Oh how we love seeing sunny soirees pop up in the 100LC inbox. This first birthday party and traditional Korean Dol celebration designed by Wednesday’s mama Hannah and White Blossom Events is full of spring cheer, not to mention one happy little bebe. Erin Saldana shares the photos of this sweet day below.
A highlight of the traditional Doljanchi, or Dol ceremony is the Doljabi, where the baby is placed in front of a series of objects chosen by the family. Whichever the child reaches for first is said to allude to their future. Keep scrolling to see which object Wednesday chose!
Cream and yellow balloon decorations blended with white and green flowers and whimsical leaping leopards made the sweetest backdrop for the day.
The team at White Blossom Events styled a formal tablescape for the family to enjoy a private meal together before the rest of the guests arrived, and designer Hannah was behind all the lovely florals for her daughter’s first.
Family and friends flew in from around the world to celebrate: Hawaii, Texas, New York, Washington and Saudi Arabia.
The favor boxes read, “Thank you for coming to my purrr-thday,” and they had a kitty ear crafting station for the littles to enjoy:
The three flavors featured at the boba bar were Tiger Boba, Leopard Boba, and Panther Boba. These big cat details are reminding us of this animal-themed kids party from a while back!
Pretty idea for a first birthday photo wall!
The family combined Korean and Western traditions during the party, which made for a day packed full of fun activities for Wednesday. First, the cake smash…
Then, during the Doljabi, Wednesday chose the book!
Does Wednesday’s dad Tim look familiar to you? Fun fact, he’s an actor! You may have seen him on This Is Us, or his new show, Reasonable Doubt on Hulu!
Happy first birthday, Wednesday!
