If you’re looking for playful ways to include your pup in the big day, you’ve come to the right place. Michelle and Sam’s Hamptons wedding was romantic and whimsical, and entirely planned by our Art Director bride. From their Pomeranian’s wagon ride down the aisle to the bride’s flirty fringe dress to an afterparty fueled by espresso martinis—all beautifully captured by Betsi Ewing Weddings—these two sure know how to throw a wedding that’s just as fun for guests as it is romantic for them!
Bridal Party Details
Bridesmaids channeled the romantic, whimsical theme with dresses in nudes and blush tones, curated from BHLDN & Dessy and paired with small white and blush bouquets. While getting ready, ladies wore mismatched satin PJ sets (the bride’s sleeves and slippers adorned in feathers, of course!), which made for cute bridal party photos. Flower girl included!

Laura Elizabeth Design dreamt up a romantic and modern invitation suite with an illustration of the venue’s lighthouse and subtle star detail.Since they met in Manhattan, they wanted their wedding to feel like a mini getaway. Hamptons wedding venue Montauk Yacht Club made it feel like they had the whole island to themselves, and most guests even stayed on the property.
The Ceremony
Michelle and Sam encouraged guests to dress in ‘Creative Black Tie’ attire for the big day. Even their pup Pookah the Pom dressed the part in his custom Anna Happy Dog tuxedo. Michelle’s niece and nephew brought him down the aisle in a white wagon to the song How Far I’ll Go on a string quartet.
But the bride’s walk down the aisle (donning Amsale) was their favorite memory from the day, which felt especially emotional as they opted out of a first look.
Pro tip: If your pets are part of your story, custom cocktail napkins are the way to go!
Blush and White Wedding Details
Bride Michelle explains, Our wedding colors were soft and romantic: shades of blush, pinks, nude, white, purposeful greenery and touches of mauve to nod to fall. Some of my favorite design details were the hanging florals above our sweetheart table, the monogrammed flags we placed around the property, the burst of color from the mismatched bridesmaid pajama sets and of course our adorable Pookah the Pom.
It was important to us to pull in a few creative twists on classic elements, which very much describes the two of us. We’re both creatives. We both live in Manhattan and work in the city. I am an art director in advertising, and when Sam isn’t working at Business Insider he is producing electronic music under the name Razzix. We even have a mini music studio in our NYC apartment.
Instead of a party favor, each guest picked up an espresso martini (our favorite cocktail) as they made their way upstairs into the lighthouse for our afterparty where my husband DJ’ed.
Love the bride’s dance party look, don’t you?! This fun fringe dress is by Nadine Merabi.
