Raise your hand if you landed on this page while planning your honeymoon or a romantic vacation! (Or are just a big fan of Italy—we relate.) We haven’t talked about honeymoon destinations in a minute, but our founder Amanda loves to travel and Puglia, Italy is one of her favorite getaway spots. So on popular request, she’s here today sharing some gorgeous accommodations for your honeymoon or next vacation!
Ahh Puglia. It’s one of my top Italian destinations, and for good reason… it’s a beautiful region where you can truly have uniquely different experiences within an hour’s drive of one another. My perfect vacation has equal parts relaxation and adventure and Puglia is the best combo. There’s the olive grove-filled countryside with lovely towns like Ostuni, Polignano a Mare, Martina Franca, and Alberobello, filled with chic white masserias, gardens, farms and slow living. Then there’s the beaches… calm and crystal clear on the western side of the peninsula, and a deep blue on the other. Sprinkle in some art and vibrant towns like Lecce (our fave) and in my humble opinion, that’s the perfect formula for a vacation to relax and to adventure.
I get frequent requests for my top Puglia hotel reccs, so I decided to put this handy guide together for you.
Getting to Puglia, Italy
There are two main airports in which you can choose to fly into from the U.S… Bari or Brindisi, usually with a connection in Rome. Sometimes Bari is a bit cheaper than flying into Brindisi. Renting a car is a must, to go from the airport to your accommodation and all the day trips to local towns and beaches. Unlike the rest of Italy, there’s not really a great train that runs frequently through this area.
The Best Hotels in Puglia
I’ll begin with my favorite hotel in Puglia… this dreamy spot in Fasano. Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake were married here, and I can see why. Every inch of this place is beyond. It’s a bit pricier than other hotels in Puglia, but if you want an extra special spot for your honeymoon or family vacation, check it out.
Borgo Egnazia
Lecce
Lecce, often hailed as ‘the Florence’ of southern Italy, is probably our most favorite town in Puglia. We fell in love with its slow pace, but vibrant feel, and its culture, architecture and restaurants/bars/shops. You can easily spend a few days walking (or biking) around the maze of narrow streets, finding hidden piazzas, having lazy lunches in wine bars with a glass of local rose and a view of an extravagantly carved baroque church. It is exquisite, yet relaxed, and there are plenty of beautiful places to stay. Here are a few favorites…
Palazzo Lecce
Palazzo San Lazzaro
La Fiermontina Luxury Home Hotel
I’ve had the pleasure of staying at La Fiermontina a couple of times, and it is truly gorgeous, with the best location.
Palazzo Charlie

Ostuni
Ostuni is famous for its landscapes and whitewashed scenic houses. An impressive view of a city on a hilltop is what characterizes this popular town. Here you can discover a new alleyway, staircase or tiny trattoria at every turn. Get delightfully lost in its maze of charm, and end up at breathtaking vista points to view the countryside. Then grab aperitivo with the sunset of your dreams. Here are a few amazing places to lay your head after a day filled with adventuring in this town.
La Sommità Relais & Chateaux
Paragon 700 Boutique Hotel & Spa
Masseria Moroseta
You’ve heard me wax poetic about Masseria Moroseta. It’s the first place we stayed in Puglia, after stalking it for months after opening. And it’s likely the chicest place we’ve stayed in the region. If you can’t score a room here, they host these wonderful dinners for guests and travelers that you’ll need to reserve in advance. They now have homes you can rent too.
Masseria Santo Scalone
La Bella Ostuni Suites
Martina Franca, Oria, Alberobello and Locorotondo
Further inland, other noteworthy towns in Puglia are Martina Franca, Oria, Alberobello and Locorotondo, each with their own advantages. But no matter which you choose as a home base, you can always visit the others by car during your stay. Do a little research to determine which area you’d like to spend the most time in, and that fits your budget, and add other destinations of interest to your itinerary. There are some beautiful accommodations and nearby sights in these areas!
