Sure, weddings are our jam, but it’s always special to see a peek into other milestone celebrations, from birthdays to holidays and everything in between. So this dreamy and elegant Quinceaños (15th birthday party) by One Heart Event Planning and Javier Mendez Photography certainly deserves a spot on the blog. The team gathered all things fairytale garden—birds, blooms, and magic—to celebrate Costa Rican-Swedish birthday girl Eva at Casa Vista in San José. This milestone birthday is so full of enchanting details, we can see it inspiring garden parties, showers, and weddings alike!
A Floral-Themed Quinceañera
The team at One Heart Event Planning explains, When we met through zoom for the first time, we heard her biologist parents dearly calling her “mi Pajarito,” which means “my little bird,” and we immediately knew that for her quinceaños we needed to create a beautiful, dreamy garden that attracts birds to visit and stay.
They began with a palette blending Eva’s favorite colors, shades of lilac and purple. From there, they infused every element with nature inspired details like lush greenery and moss, paper flowers, and even a dance floor made of dried florals!
They designed and hand-drew the mural of birds and flowers for the seating chart, with with hooks holding 100 lavender-flavored lollipops with edible flowers inside. Such a beautiful seating chart idea for any spring event!
All centerpieces were different from each other, decorated with moss, trees, pinecones, blooming flowers and everything you could imagine in a fairytale.
Fairytale Garden Details
At the entrance, we set up a 3-meter floral tunnel fully covered by pine leaves and flowers, as we wanted our guests to feel as if they were walking through the passage to our wonderland. Chandeliers woven with purple flowers were hung above a clear acrylic dance floor filled with 350 square feet of flowers, and fairy lights filling up the whole ceiling.
Betcha haven’t seen a dance floor like this before!
Eva wore a soft purple tulle Elky Suárez Quinceañera dress that blended perfectly into the garden scene.
We had cocktails made of wild berries, and a 4-tier birthday cake covered with countless sugar flowers on a serpentine table with delightful sweets on hanging swings, surrounded by giant flowers and dancing blooms. Our invitations and printed arts were thoughtfully designed with lots of delicate flowers and details. The family gave Costa Rican guava jam as favors for each guest. Even the tables were named after birds of different species native to Costa Rica. The venue transformed from an empty lot, literally from scratch, into the dreamiest garden possible.
Such a beautiful and thoughtful 15th birthday party in Costa Rica! Thanks to the team below for sharing it with us…
