We’re just getting the most incredible, surprising wedding inspiration in our inboxes as of late. (Scroll through the home page if you need a refresher!). A wedding inspired by The Sound of Music? Yes, please. This shoot by Ashley Largesse and Megan Leonard Productions took place at the actual Trapp Family Lodge in Vermont, where the team tells us that old world, Austrian charm is now combined with a fresh perspective and creative spirit. Pair that with an elegant, rustic fall wedding, and this is what you get:
A few notes from the team… Warm hues of burnt umber, garnet, yellow and lavender were infused into the lodge’s setting using accent materials of silk, wood, porcelain, alabaster, brass and bronze alongside plants, flowers and bulbs designed by Nectar & Root. Our model’s art nouveau beaded sheath dress from Everthine Bridal Boutique, unfussy hairstyle and optional silk organza skirt overlay which easily transformed her dress into an A-line silhouette, melded old to the new.
Wouldn’t you just die to be a guest at this table? Stunning!
As we do in Vermont, we wanted to keep the entire shoot as locally inspired as possible. Naturally shedded antlers, foraged beech leaves and the beautiful Vermont landscape were included in our imagery. The large windows and wooden backdrop to our reception site created a greenhouse like effect, mirrored in rambling ivy, garden roses, ranunculus, daffodils, and sprouting spring bulbs. Greenery and beautiful blooms had a show-stopping place on our table, but Nectar & Root blew us all away with their ingeniously showcased bulbs in copper terrariums. Bulbs are symbolically perfect at weddings as a literal expression of the start of something new & beautiful.
In case you were wondering how perfect this dress + bouquet would be outdoors in winter, too… Portrait inspiration, anyone?
Beautiful work!
