Whenever we think of Texas weddings, a few gorgeous venues usually stick out. Now that we’ve seen Jennifer + Don’s day through the lens of Adria Lea Photography, the fresh, modern White Sparrow Barn will forever come to mind. Why? On a mission to have their 75-guest nuptials feel like a big family gathering, these two made an incredible use of the barn’s vast, open space and natural, countryside feel. Add in bright blooms from The Southern Table and this is one to remember!
Had to share a shot of the outside of this epic barn for ya. Isn’t it a stunner?
The bride tells it, We wanted an elegant barn-style wedding. We knew the bridesmaids dresses would be a cream color and the groomsmen suits would be navy. We chose deep rich tones and greenery to make it pop out against the beautiful white barn.
Did we mention that they planned their wedding in three short months? So impressive. The biggest hurdle was finding a dress within a timeframe that’s too short for many designers. Luckily, she landed on Pallas Couture after a search on Pinterest and it all worked out!
J + D’s fave moment was hands-down, the first look.
As for the reception, Jennifer’s fam actually built and stained the farmhouse tables throughout.
Last but not least, the proposal story, as written by our groom… The proposal was a surprise at the Harbor in Rockwall, with family on both sides prepped in secret (Don drew a map for family to park and hide safely out of view). We walked towards the movie theatre from the hotel and stopped in front of the fountain. Don took out some pennies and said, “Remember that one time we came here one of our first dates and tossed in coins for good luck? Jennifer said, “Yes I do.” We then closed our eyes and made a wish and then tossed in the pennies. Don then turned to Jennifer and said, “Remember that one time we came here and I proposed to you?” He got down on one knee and said, “Will you marry me?” Jennifer covered her mouth in happiness and said “Yes!”. All the family them came running out of hiding sharing their congratulations.
