Happy almost weekend! You might’ve seen that Jillian recently teamed up with The Container Store to totally revamp the closet spaces in her new home, starting with a his + hers master closet reveal. After that, we shared her shared boys closet update, and today we finally have one of our personal fave transformations: the closet-turned-office. Yep, we’ve pretty much all become masters of small spaces over here! She worked with the design team at Container Store to give a shallow closet in their third bedroom a completely new purpose: a stylish mini office space for the days she doesn’t go into the 100LC HQ. Read her story below!
Rather than making our third bedroom a traditional bedroom, we decided to turn it into a family room/office. This way all media would be out of the main spaces of the house, which can be key for teaching little ones to limit their media intake, not to mention it allows us to turn it off when we need too.
First up, I wanted to paint the nook, so I used Farrow & Ball’s studio green paint. It was a perfect contrast to the Birch elfa decor shelving. I also love how the copper accessories pop against the dark green wall.
Birch elfa decor Accessory Shelf / Copper Magnetic Desk Set / White & Gold Poppin Pens Frisco Desktop Organizer / Bigso Stockholm Binders / Gold & White Office Storage BoxesLooking at everything that had to fit within the space before, you’d never think it would be possible to tuck it all away and create a private nook like this. Isn’t it amazing what you can do with a small space? Every inch counts.
Bins and baskets like the Copper Wire Drawer Organizer keep everything out in the open without cluttering it up.
Pop over to The Container Store’s blog for more about my closet transformation.
Which room should we tackle next?
