If you love a good jewel-tone color palette or a beautiful barn venue, you’re in for a real treat with Georgia + Anthony’s Indiana wedding as planned by Morgan of Ashley Weddings & Design. It’s such a perfect example of how to set the tone for your wedding and continue it throughout each and every part of the day. Not to mention, it’s got the sweetest story of how they incorporated this cutie flower girl, the groom’s daughter Marlo, into their ceremony. Photos by Courtney Sinclair below!
The bouquet recipe by Meg Catherine: ranunculus, garden roses, red charm peonies, fritillaria, nine bark, flowering smoke bush, astilbe and koko loko roses!
Georgia explains, We first chose Courtney Sinclair last year for our engagement shoot. Her pictures seemed to have more depth and variation than some of the other photographers. Wedding and engagement pictures can sometimes look stuffy and staged, but Courtney’s photos are always bright, vibrant, and engaging. She has been nothing but a gem to work with and has since become a close friend. She shot our engagement and wedding photos, she did a boudoir shoot with me for Anthony, AND was the photographer for a styled shoot that Anthony and I were the models for in June 2017. Everyone who sees a picture of hers is always in awe, she was a dream to work with and is one of the most talented people I’ve ever met.
Cutest first look ever! Would you believe that Georgia actually purchased her dress three weeks before the big day?! She’d picked one a year before, but had lingering doubts—she says, I had picked a dress exactly a year before the wedding, but was impulsive about my decision. My advice is that a dress may make you feel like a princess, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s what you want to walk down the aisle in. Once she shared her fears with fam and friends, it was a mad scramble to find a new one! Luckily it all worked out with this Watters Cassia dress from BHLDN. Dreamy!
Their venue was The Loft at Walnut Hill in Bloomington, Indiana, which had a beautiful ceremony backdrop of the barn and rolling hills surrounding them. They loved that there were plenty of different spaces for each part of the celebration, and their 200 guests had room to enjoy themselves.
Anthony and I wrote our own vows and they were incredibly touching and sweet, but I really got emotional when addressing his daughter, Marlo. I wrote her vows and gave her a little necklace as something comparable to our wedding rings. Anthony and I know we love each other and want to be together forever, but I never imagined I could so deeply love a little girl who wasn’t my own. I feel like the luckiest woman in the world to get two loves of my life for the price of one. That moment really solidified our family.
Anthony’s grandmother also got to see Georgia wearing her own set of rings, that fit perfectly and didn’t even need to be sized.
We actually had more traditional fall colors, with rich jewel tones. We didn’t really have a theme, but we did take a lot of our decoration cues from Alice Waters, decorating with whole fruits and herbs along with floral arrangements. My husband is a chef and he loves Alice Waters, so it was actually his idea to incorporate these elements and it was gorgeous! My style was reflected in some of the more elegant pieces, including our head table seat which was rented from Violet Vintage , and our hand painted invites. Also, our dessert table was all me. We had an insane assortment from The Cake Bake Shop, which really reflected my love of sweets and cake!
Absolutely enamored with how light and bright this space is, aren’t you?
Um, yes. So on board with chocolate cake AND an assortment of other flavors. Yum.
