Oh, spring in NYC! It’s a bucket list experience for sure. Surrounded by the colors and textures of all the flowering trees, photographer Sylvie Rosokoff teamed up with frequent creative collaborators BLOOM BLOOM and Cha Cha Linda for a nontraditional wedding editorial that brought a bit of the 1960s to today’s Brooklyn. If you subscribe to our Substack, you know how into 60s fashion we are at the moment—not to mention all of the wedding trends featured below—so this bright, organic Brooklyn shoot is a dream to see!

Vintage Bridal Hairstyle
From Tasha Muresan of BLOOM BLOOM: “I stumbled upon the iconic photo of Elizabeth Taylor with Richard Burton on their wedding day, where Liz has a very long braid, with strung white flowers spiraling down the length of her hair. I believe the flowers used by her stylist were hyacinth and lily of the valley, but I opted for the sturdy-yet-delicate nerine for our version. The kind I was finding at the flower market that week was particularly curly and gestural, and after Shaun wove it across the front of the braid, it looked almost skeletal, but still ethereal and pretty. We knew we’d landed on something really special.”
Yellow, White, and Green Wedding Flowers
“For the rest of the florals, I was inspired by the lemon-yellow dress Eva picked for Aarti, and wanted to challenge myself to work within a limited palette. I’ve been approached by lots of couples who want to do a more contemporary spin on the classic white and green palette, and this feels like something I would offer those couples. It feels classically bridal with the soft white flowers & delicate, wispy blooms, but modern and fun, with a louder color like yellow, and more unexpected elements like the snake ball alliums, lemons, and little piles of white gravel. I’ve been joking with my collaborators that this shoot is my siren song to spring couples—let’s get you married when branches are heavy with blooms, and ephemeral heavy hitters like poppies & bleeding hearts abound!”
So beautifully done, this table!

Vintage Bridal Style
From Eva Lopez of Cha Cha Linda Vintage: “The inspiration for Aarti’s look was a 1960s take on an Indowestern wedding look. We paired a mango yellow raw silk 60s gown that had an ornate pearl bib collar with a stunning pair of pearl Jhumka earrings and matching bangles. The entire look was simple and classic in silhouette but packed a major punch with the juicy color and dramatic florals. Shaun Lewis of Oser House created a show stopping flower-laced braid in Aarti’s hair and Lucas Dean enhanced Aarti’s natural beauty with a complementary makeup look, with nail art by frisky mariska.”
