After having a not so good experience with their previous photographer, and running behind on getting their save the dates & invitations designed and mailed out, imagine the excitement Brittany + Glen felt when they met photographer Ross Clodfelter aka F5 Photography over coffee and found out he was also an amazing graphic designer. Things went uphill from there. Not only did he photograph their day beautifully, but the typography and design on all their paper goods – save the date coasters, programs, and invitations were absolutely stunning.
Brittany made the moss letters that hung over the front porch of the house. She used moss, 23″ paper mache letters and 8″ paper mache letters, spray glue and hot glue. She admitted they were very meticulous but a staple to the decor.
Brittany on the overall inspiration for their wedding: Growing up The Secret Garden was one of my favorite movies. I had always longed for finding my own Secret Garden, so much so that at my grandparents I had a skeleton key that entranced me into a place in the woods where fallen trees and ivy lay. Glen is your typical Southern gentleman so I decided I would mesh the two together. The Secret Garden (british style with mysterious gardens) meets the Old South. Before settling on The Groome Inn, Glen and I probably visited 20 places from the NC mountains all the way to the Outer Banks. When we pulled up and saw the beautiful flowers and hidden arbor in the back and the old country house I was in love! It was perfect!
For my flowers I wanted garden flowers as well as a mixture of field flowers–peonys, garden roses, rannaculus, thistle, freesia, listhantus and many others. Rose petals down the ceremony aisles and white wisteria placed in the ivy arbor. You can see all of my secret garden inspirations on my pinterest wedding board.
Congratulations Brittany + Glen!!
