And now for the stunning photos and darling video from Melanie + Kelcey’s wedding! Get pumped you guys. There are a ton of pretty and colorful details to be inspired from. The team at YEAH! weddings held nothing back. But then again, check out the team behind the name… YEAH! weddings is a collective created by the heads behind: The Flashdance, Bash, Please, Our Labor of Love, Smilebooth, Shark Pig, YEAH! rentals, and more who are working tirelessly to develop the next dream team of wedding & event superstars. Ready? Let’s plow.
We have a lot of top moments from the wedding, but our favorite is definitely the ceremony. It was the moment I was most nervous about, but being up there in front of everyone ended up feeling exactly right. Reading my vows to Kelcey was the easiest thing I’ve ever read aloud. Love is a really powerful magic in that way. And it is a truly beautiful memory to think back on. I’m so happy we ended up having the ceremony outside. The weather was just right, and the sun was starting to set. And Myles did an amazing job telling our love story. We laughed so much.
When we found out that we’d won, we were on a conference call with a majority of the people involved with YEAH! Weddings, and they said, “We have good news and bad news. The bad news is… You only have 6 weeks to plan your wedding. The good news is…. You only have 6 weeks to plan your wedding.” I was speechless. I couldn’t believe we’d won, and it still hits me every so often like a wave of shock: “We won a wedding!?”
The most dreamy wedding portraits ever!
Our dinner tables were so beautiful. Bash, Please wanted to do a water color effect on the table runners, and they turned out really cool. Our mood board was inspired by constellations, geometric shapes, and shades of blue, and they completely delivered. Really loved how Landish found the perfect flowers that looked just like stars in the sky.
Perfect lounge area for guests made possible by the awesome Mid Century furniture rentals from YEAH! rentals.
We wanted to give out a wedding favor that would be fun and memorable. Since music is a big part of our life, we thought it would be perfect to have everyone shake a tambourine at the end of the ceremony. Kelcey carved a design into a linoleum block, and hand-stamped each tambourine with paint in the colors of the wedding. They were a really fun addition to the day.
Right after the ceremony we both collapsed onto the swing and Our Labor of Love, Max Wanger and Brian covered us in our tambourines. It was the one moment of relaxation in the day — much needed before the insane dance party that was about to ensue.
Dance party ensues right about now…
Why not have a sexy little kickline like the LA Follies help to kick off the dance party?
The stressful process of planning our wedding stemmed from organizing the guest list, and hosting out of town guests for the weekend. Since we had family and friends visiting from other cities and states, we wanted everyone to stay in our neighborhood to see where we live and what we love about it. We organized a few events throughout the weekend for our friends and family to mingle and explore, but juggling the position of host and bride + groom can be tough. Kelcey and I both had to work the week of the wedding, so we needed a personal assistant or an intern or someone to help us finish all of the last minute errands. Our biggest advice is to ask for help. Fly your family and friends out early, especially if you’re unable to take a vacation beforehand. No one will say no to the bride and groom!
We don’t want their wedding to end either, so how ’bout we press play on their darling and oh so awesome video by Shark Pig! Congratulations Melanie + Kelcey!
