You can never go wrong with an art museum as your wedding venue. You’re surrounded by gorgeous works of art and history and the outdoor courtyards are perfect for a reception. Nisse + Matt got married at The Art Institute of Chicago a year after getting engaged, trying to plan a move from Chicago to Boston, graduate medical school, and start new jobs. Whew! But they did it. And they did it beautifully with the help of photographer, Olivia Leigh. The colors, florals, their ceremony, DIY watercolor escort cards, glittery touches, and desserts… gorgeous!
Nissie’s bridesmaids carried bouquets similar to hers with roses, ranunculus, scabiosa, dusty miller, seeded eucalyptus, and brunia berries
Flower girls in tutus! The best.
Their signature wedding cocktail: basil gin martinis with sweet little “Eat, Drink, Marry” straw flags.
Their escort cards started off as one large watercolor painting by Nisse’s mother. They then cut tags and had them calligraphed by Angelique Ink.
Prettiest dessert table! Look at how adorable those cakes are.
Their first dance song was “You Are the Best Thing” by Ray LaMontagne.
More of their wedding can also be seen in Martha Stewart Weddings!
