Earlier today we shared this super romantic Hispanic wedding inspiration shoot, complete with a papel picado chandelier, piñata, and these sweet doily cocktail stirrers. Heather Hele of Sweet Revelry Event Design was kind enough to share a DIY tutorial so we can easily make these cuties ourselves. Any Cinco de Mayo weddings being planned out there? How perfect would these look in your cocktails?
Supplies:
– Glue gun
– Scissors
– Fabric Stiffner
– Bowl or tupperware
– Lace doilies (you can find handfuls in different sizes & colors at Michael’s)
– Parchment paper
– Sticks to use as the stirrer
– Beads
Step one: Set your doily in a bowl or tupperware and cover in fabric stiffner. Once it’s entirely covered, place on parchment paper to dry.
Step two: When dry, grab scissors and begin shaping the doily to the shape that you’d like. Then cut a slit through to make it easier to shape into an umbrella.
Step three: Glue the slit together, shape in your palm, and glue in your stirring stick to the center.
Step four: Turn it over and glue your embellishment to the top center and add t0 any cocktail!
Too adorable, right?
