If you could be the first couple to ever get married in a particular location (especially in pretty Palm Springs), wouldn’t you? We were actually surprised to hear no one else has gotten hitched up at the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, so props to Joanna + Adam for making their wedding extra special. It was intimate, romantic, and whimsical. Mini ring bearer boys wearing cute little bear ears kind of whimsical. So glad Jessica Claire chose to share this beauty with us. Renting the Stan Sackley Estate for their reception (and the week of the wedding) was a no-brainer as soon as they saw the home and met the friendly and accommodating owner.
Pretty pretty bridal bouquet made of peonies, succulents, astilbe, poppies, protea, scabiosa, epiphytes, and roses.
Um, these kiddos are adorbs!
Classical guitarist, Jose Luis Garmenzzi, played Canon in D by Pachelbel as Joanna walked down the aisle, instrumental versions of Hey Ho by the Lumineers for the processional, and All Day and All of the Night by The Kinks for the recessional.
The mariachi band, Los Salazar, played Si Nos Dejan for our first dance.
Sweet words from Joanna on choosing their photographer… I chose our photographer, Jessica Claire, before I chose my husband. I’ve been a fan of her work for almost a decade now, and couldn’t be happier with what she did. Her style is meticulous, artful, and breathtaking. She has an incredible way with light. I also knew that she was wonderful capturing the spirit of children, and we had many of them at our wedding!
The biggest hurdle we had to overcome was our own anxiety about getting 130 guests up the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway for our ceremony. We were told by quite a few influential people that we should do a private or very small ceremony up there (or somewhere else), but after considering what that would mean for all of our loved ones and for ourselves, we decided to take a deep breath, enlist the help of our amazing wedding coordinators, and go for it. Thank goodness we made that choice. It was amazing, and everybody loved that part of the experience.
