Last week we shared some of our favorite Thanksgiving dinner table decor ideas (which can apply to any dinner party, really). Today, Apryl Ann Photography, along with a few Dallas event vendors are adding their two cents on how to throw a delicious, family-style dinner party with beautiful, modern details. Oh yeah, and there’s a recipe for a lovely little cocktail that tastes like fall in liquor form.
Peach Smash Cocktail recipe:
One slice of ripe peach (peeled and pitted, about the size of a lemon wedge)
Two Luxardo Brand Marschino Cherries (one for garnish)
½ to 1 oz. ginger infused simple syrup (recipe below)
A thin slice or two of the candied ginger.
2 oz. fine bourbon (depends how strong you like your cocktails!)
1 healthy dash of Orange Bitters
Large ice cubes
Tools: muddler
Glass: Old Fashioned
Garnish: 6 inch cinnamon stick.
Ginger Infused Simple Syrup
Peel and thinly slice one large hand of ginger.
Boil ginger in two cups of water. There should be a lot of ginger in there. Reduce by approximately half. The liquid should be spicy. Add ½ cup of Dark Brown Sugar and ½ cup of pure cane sugar. Remove from heat and dissolve until liquid is not cloudy. Store in refrigerator with candied ginger slices still in the liquid.
Muddle the peach wedge, thin ginger slice, and one cherry with the ginger infused simple syrup. Pour your Bourbon. Give it a dash of orange bitters. Stir with the cinnamon stick. Add ice. Leave cinnamon stick and one whole cherry for garnish. Sip!
Do you see some ideas that you’d like to take to your table? We especially love those watercolor name cards. Thanks for the lovely inspiration, guys!
