Did you catch our other modern wedding on le blog this morning? It’s pretty rad. But you gotta have options, so we’ve got a sweet, modern Chicago wedding by Katie Kett Photography to sail into the weekend with. And for those of you planning, bride Jessie sums the process up pretty darn well…
To me, planning a wedding is just a process of making a bunch of decisions. Decisions that might seem easy or even silly for a normal human, but for some reason as a bride they become these crazy important, make or break choices. You don’t think you will become that bride and then one night you find yourself on the floor with $500 worth of sequin tablecloths you’ve ordered on the internet, questioning if the gold is too “gold gold” or if maybe the “champagne gold” is not gold enough. Lucky for me I had a limited amount of time and a budget to keep me in check, but you get the idea.
Don’t the gals look darling in their pink J. Crew dresses?
It made more sense to use pieces that could actually serve as décor in their home, so things like a decorative case from West Elm that they planned to use on their living room table were purchased as opposed to overly wedding-themed items.
Jessie loved the white walls and chandeliers in the venue, and Alex loved that it was an old factory, turned loft. Win-win!
What a fabulous setup.
Some parting words: Our choice of caterer and DJ kept our guests having a blast. Our wedding coordinator, Ashley La Fleur, kept me worry free. And our wonderful photographer, Katie Kett, captured it all perfectly. It really was the best day of our lives and we couldn’t be happier.
Congrats J + A!
