Remember this adorable couple from the upstate NY e-sesh on 100lc this morning? They incorporated the same gorgeous fall scenery and adventurous sprit in their wedding (also captured by the talented Forged in the North), which is literally overflowing with spectacular details. Their story is pretty special too:
Sutee and I love a good adventure. During the seven years we’ve been together, some of our best times have been on trips that have taken us within inches of Grizzly bears, hiking alongside mountain goats, sleeping in tree houses, and camping on some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
Naturally, their rustic, outdoorsy wedding was inspired by all those moments…
Erica wore an ivory tulle fit and flare Tara Keely gown with a strapless sweetheart bodice and lace appliqué as well as a tiered skirt and chapel train.
They snagged venue The Inn at West Settlement, where they held the ceremony on the front lawn surrounded by fall foliage on the wooded hills and mountains.
We wanted the wedding to provide our guests with the same sense of refuge, warmth and serenity that we have only experienced when we are away from the bustle of city life. We’ve found that when you’re away from all the noise, the stress, and the daily grind, all you have left is each other. And that is when we are the happiest. Beautifully stated!!

The empty barn called for DIYs from floor to ceiling. They tied leaf cut-outs on mason jars, had a custom stamp made by Paper Sushi, and Erica created, printed and frame all the menus, while Sutee made the wooden welcome signs. Instead of table numbers, they used names of places they traveled, and used a kayak as a beer cooler, among other thoughtful details.
A few words on Forged in the North: When we saw the work of Ryan and Heidi, we knew that their aesthetic matched perfectly with ours. Their pictures show a level of creativity that is unmatched by others that we have seen. Beyond their talent, they are the nicest people you will ever meet. They were so excited to hear our ideas and eager to make them come alive. Not once did we feel like we needed to work under a specific template. We felt like we were working with friends.
