You guys, we’re all smiles after hearing the deets from today’s Pasadena wedding. From how these two met to how they chose their vendors, the stars aligned for an elegant, intimate wedding with sunny SoCal vibes.
Thanks to M.K. Sadler for the photos! Here’s what our bride has to say about her work:
Her photographs are timeless. That, to me, is the mark of a great photographer. These images would have been beautiful 100 years ago and they’ll be beautiful 100 years from now. It sounds strange, but I could see myself looking through these photos forty years down the line and them having the power to evoke as much feeling then as I felt on my wedding day… If this weren’t dreamy enough, Meghan also has the kind of presence that is so incredibly easy, inconspicuous, and nonintrusive to an anxious bride. That alone was priceless. I just consider myself extremely lucky to have crossed her path in the right time and place.
Elaine’s engagement ring is a vintage 19th century pearl + diamond beauty. Such a perfect fit with her silk tulle + pearl beaded BHLDN gown, right?
With a 30k budget and costs adding up, their biggest savings came from choosing a venue already decked out with a design + décor they loved.
Elaine tells it, The Boddy House was a perfect blend of indoor and outdoor space, incorporating Drew’s love of nature and mine of architecture and décor. What sealed the deal for me was the interior of the house—with its Hollywood Regency Style décor, black and white marble dance floor, and vintage wallpaper—I was thrilled that guests would be able to meander through the house during cocktails to take it all in.
After lots of stress, Elaine ended up finding a new hairstylist last minute + doing her makeup herself. Like we said, the stars aligned and she looks beautiful!
Sweet side note: They surprised their guests with a performance of “Happy” to open the dance floor. Since Drew has kids from another marriage, they wanted to do something fun together as a new family— and his daughter Joya even did the choreography.
Drew’s a blogger, and Elaine had been a longtime reader when she decided to write him. When their florist, Billy of Primary Petals, heard their story, he knew he just had to film it for his new company, IV Films. See it below:
