Such a striking beauty, right? It only gets better from here. Jimmy from Gideon Photography had an idea for a Charles Dickens themed shoot and of course When Pigs Fly Events immediately jumped on board. We mean, imagine the possibilities! They rounded up a great team of local vendors + made some new creative friends on Etsy (check out their shops in the credits below!) in order to create the magical, moody holiday vignette you’re lookin’ at right now…
Their goal for the shoot was to follow the theme of A Christmas Carol, through the eyes of its creator, Dickens. Such a cool concept for a holiday wedding scene!
Courtney of When Pigs Fly Events says, We wanted to create a modern take on Victorian life while highlighting the famous writer and his story. We added historically relevant touches in our shoot. The punch is called the ‘Smoking Bishop’ and was the drink of choice of Dickens. During Victorian times, the Christmas tree was often adorned with fruit. Instead of presents, people often left fruits and nuts (and in our case a tray of coal for Scrooge). We dried fruit slices and draped them on the tree. The Christmas card featured in the stationary is actually a rendition of the first Christmas card created in 1843 (the year Dickens released ‘A Christmas Carol’).
The team followed food blogger Tori Avey’s Smoking Bishop drink recipe, doesn’t it look amazing?
Betty’s Pie Whole ended up being the perfect fit for this tablescape.So. Many. Details. You gotta see them all in the gallery below…
