Have you guys ever seen a cross-stitched ceremony backdrop? What about blue ghost chairs? Or a chromatic cake? Mary Elise Rees Event Design, behind the concept + design of this playful shoot, obviously has an eye for the unique. Her mission was to bring art and personality into a modern wedding scene at the NY State Museum in Albany, which by the way, would make quite the backdrop for any festive affair, let alone one this sweet. Thanks to Keira Lemonis Photography for capturing all the deets!
Mary Elise Rees Event Design created the epic art-inspired pegboard ceremony backdrop.Mary explains, The design was inspired by contemporary art museums and work by artists such as Dan Flavin with a color palette of bright pinks, oranges, yellow, and a pop of blue. We loved the expansive white marble and strong lines of the NYS museum in Albany that provided the perfect background for our modern shoot. (If you know Dan Flavin, you totally get the influence!)
Lush garlands of yellow + orange along with pink spray roses adorned the tablescape, thanks to Poppytree Floral Design.
Nothin’ like riding off in a 1961 Chevy convertible…
Too fun. Thanks to the ladies and gents below for sharing their work with us!
