Happy hump day! We have a little midweek pick me up in the form of a moody spring bouquet for ya today. Super talented stylist + florist Kelly Oshiro is spilling the details of this arrangement alongside photos by Elisa Bricker. Did we mention this is pretty lovely styling inspo too?
Pretty calligraphy by Susan Silverberg of all the pieces included. The recipe: Burgundy Hellebore, Blue Muscari, Burgundy Scabiosa, Purple/lavender Japanese sweet pea, Frizzy Purple Tulips, Blue Tweedia
How it’s done, from Kelly… I like to build my bouquets from front to back, adding depth by layering flowers in front of each other, and keeping the overall shape more wide than tall. I started with blue tweedia to outline the outer edges of the bouquet, then placed in tulips at different heights, clusters of sweet pea, scabiosa placed at different heights, and then delicate hellebore to anchor the front of the bouquet. Finally, I threaded in delicate muscari (one of my favorite flowers) for an additional pop of blue. I finished the bouquet with a variety of silk, satin, and velvet gray ribbon.
Big thanks to Kelly for showing us how it’s done! Let us know if you give this one a try.
