Happy first Friday of January, guys! It’s been wayyy too long since we’ve had a bridal shower up on le blog, don’t you think? This summery fête for Jaclyn Johnson, founder of Create & Cultivate (which we’re huge fans of and got the chance to be involved in last year in LA), has a chic bohemian backyard vibe with an extra dose of color. Clearly, Jaclyn knows a thing or two about putting on an incredible event, so she sent over a few tips for ya as well. Jessica Bordner documented the shower with styling by Urban Vintage and Southern Floral Company flowers.
Jackie’s first tip? Get custom! Add a bit of personalization like she did with this embroidered jacket.
Another trick is to create multiple spots for gathering throughout the event, no matter the space you’re given. She says, We wanted to create a separate lounge for the bride to have friends and family gather around to open gifts. We created a bohemian, perfectly instagrammable space for this using both True Love Vintage‘s rentals and Kathy Peterson Inspired’s handmade backdrop. We surrounded the settee with guest favors from Chic Sweets and potted succulents and catci from Shop Succulents… The mimosa bar and food was laid out in a separate space for guest to mingle before and after the brunch. As guest sipped on bubbly they were able to enjoy the vintage trough overflowed with succulents continuing the garden feel all the way into the open patio area.
Pretty pin-worthy too, if you ask us!
We wanted the colors of the tablescape to pop and shine with the natural light of the afternoon so we choose golds, ambers and pinks to pop. In place of a traditional floral runner we garnished the tablescapes with wooden troughs overflowing with garden roses, draping with greens + eucalyptus to create the feel of a never ended garden-esque brunch atmosphere. Each setup was garnished with a succulent from Shop Succulents for the guests to take home and to bring a green feel to each setting.
Thanks to Jaclyn + the team below for these bridal shower tips. Congrats, girl!
