Gosh, this wedding is gorgeous. Located in Point Reyes, a place known for its uncontrollable fog, Niki + JP’s wedding embraced the whimsy, dreamy, and mysterious quality of the elements. “It was like a twisted Midsummer Night’s Dream”, they explained. Anything they wanted to create to make the most enjoyable experience for their guests, they did. Each guest’s place card was a hand drawn portrait of themselves, electronic fireflies were placed in jars, the walls of launching deck were covered in moss, pies were served up on a grill, a listening and viewing station was setup, and a few other surprises on along the way. And the invitation + paper goods design… flawless. It was altogether a unique, exciting, beautiful, memorable and full of quirks wedding captured perfectly by Kate Harrison.
How would you not want to attend a wedding if this was the invitation that arrived in your mailbox? The illustrations and quirky details N + J.P designed for their invites speak volumes to their awesome personalities.
Niki’s bridal bouquet fit the mood of their wedding perfectly. A little color and surprise with the blue thistle, a soft touch with the cotton, and a bit of drama with the a Tillandsia Xerographica air plant.
This escort card wall is just amazing! They drew every one of their 80 guest’s portraits and had them framed in those gorgeous keepsake frames. What a great way to show your guests how meaningful they are to you, no?
Electronic fireflies with a bit of moss in a jar… pretty awesome, right? Love this idea for a summer wedding.
Both work in the tech world creating user experiences for companies, so they couldn’t help but craft a little something special for their guests. Here they set up “The Memory Post – A Retrospective of Niki and J.P” where guests could press play and watch some of their favorite childhood memories. The video also included a special look at the original engagement presentation J.P. gave to Niki.
From Niki… If we were successful, everyone experienced silly moments, tasty moments, crying moments, funny moments, Instagram moments, dancey moments, drunken moments, and huggy moments.
And it looks like everyone did. Beautiful wedding you two!
