We can totally see why these two Minnesota lovebirds planned a destination wedding at San Ysidro Ranch near Santa Barbara. It’s so quaint and the grounds are breathtaking with the little cottages tucked between the gorgeous gardens. Those rolling hills make a pretty nice ceremony backdrop too. You don’t have to do much to a venue like this. Just keep the décor elegant but simple to complement the beautiful surroundings. Aren’t you guys glad that Linda Chaja Photography sent this one over our way?

From Kristy… I was very nervous all morning as the “burn off” of morning fog and clouds was taking much longer than I had seen before in Santa Barbara. The ceremony and reception were outdoors, so having nice weather was really important. I was in the limo on my way up to the ranch and it was still cloudy, but right before I arrived and about the time our guests were sitting down at their seats, the clouds parted and the sun decided to shine brightly on our wedding.

We took 16 months to plan our destination wedding. It included three trips to Santa Barbara to meet our wedding planner, venue shop, do tastings and final make preparations. Some would say that destination weddings are hard to plan; however planning from Minnesota was not as difficult as I thought. My wedding planner and I communicated by email and I shared pictures and ideas with her along the way. I feel like my vision came to life on our wedding day perfectly. I’d do it all again if I could!
