Alex + Spencer are California kids to the core. These two cuties grew up in the same CA hometown, and started dating when they were still in high school. (We love a good love story, don’t you?) So when it came time to make it official, Ashley Bryant of Mein Schatz helped them dream up a SoCal rustic soirée with a touch of easy glamour. Their venue was an obvious choice. From Alex: The Adamson House, truly embodied the relaxed California vibe we were after. From the crashing waves and surfers to the oak trees and historic story behind the landmark, we knew it was the perfect place to tie the knot. We’re so glad The Long Haul was there to capture their dreamy day…
P.S. If Alex looks familiar, that’s because she did a series of fashion + beauty guest blogs for us back when she was planning this gorgeous shindig! This former LaurenConrad.com editor now works for Who What Wear, which also explains her impeccable wedding day style.
Alex’s rustic chic bouquet recipe: Cafe au lait dahlias, white scabiosa, seeded eucalyptus, white ranunculus, garden roses, lamb’s ear, scabiosa pods, chocolate cosmos, and peach carnations.
We were the first wedding to flip-flop the standard designated ceremony and reception areas of the Adamson House. Instead of having the reception on the bluff overlooking the ocean and the ceremony under the big oak tree, we wanted to give it a most intimate feel by hosting our reception under the canopy of oak trees while our ceremony overlooked the endless vista of the Pacific Ocean…
These guys decided to play off the venue’s gorgeous tiling by using terra cotta tiles as a décor element throughout the event.
Sometimes a perfectly pretty cake doesn’t need any fondant. We love how simple and elegant this one looks.
A sweet memory from the bride… After Spencer and I said “I do” we retreated to a private house on the south side of the property, where were had a few minutes alone together before making our entrance to the cocktail reception. It was the first time we had a quiet moment together to really soak it all in and revel in the fact that we were finally husband and wife. We enjoyed a few appetizers (the mini fried chicken and waffle appetizers from Whoa Nelly! were out of this world), popped a bottle of Dom Perignon, and laughed ourselves silly while showing off our new hardware to one another. It was the happiest moment of our lives.
Congrats you two!
