At first, M + C weren’t totally sold on the idea of having a big shindig for their wedding. But with so many friends + fam they wanted to celebrate with and a gorgeous venue AKA Megan’s parents’ new home in Sonoma, there was no reason not to go all in. After a year of planning and a ton of help from their talented loved ones, a big, beautiful shindig it was. Thanks to Jennifer Emerling for sharing the photos + Wade from Shark Pig for the video.
Pretty, pretty bejeweled heels.
Megan says, My family has California roots, but we lived on the east coast and Chris is from the Boston area. With so many friends and family making the trip from the east coast (and beyond) we wanted the affair to feel very Sonoma—laidback but welcoming and thoughtful. My parents have wanted to retire in wine country for quite some time and finally began the process around the time we got engaged—so having the shindig at their new home was so special. I love oak trees (and Spanish moss), and a part of the property had this incredible cluster of trees so we made this into a venue.
Super cute invites by Olive + Isla.
Kinda really into this air plant boutonniere.
Sweet words from Megan… We chipped away at the details over the course of a year and learned a lot about one another. We both have busy work schedules which I think helped when we encountered some pretty big curve balls… We both felt so lucky to have such supportive and loving friends and family—this was just one (albeit super fun and awesome) day amidst a life long marriage. You just have to keep things in perspective and appreciate all that people are doing on your behalf.
Congratulations, Megan and Chris!
