Fun fact about C + K’s Austin wedding: they didn’t actually see the Barr Mansion until 5 months after booking it. Uh huh. You’ll see how that turned out (spoiler alert: success) in a sec, but first—the story:
When we first looked at venues, we saw so many great places, but we didn’t find anything that actually felt like a good fit for us. Whenever we saw pictures of Barr Mansion, we felt like it was the place, but we had some hesitancy booking it without seeing it. I had a coworker whose daughter was married there and after chatting with him about his amazing experience, we decided to just lock it down without seeing it. When we finally saw it in person, we fell in love with it. It was more beautiful than the photos and exactly what we had envisioned.
Here’s how Sara and Rocky Photography captured the big day…
How’s this for a dreamy mix of flowers? The bridal bouquet contained clematis, lisianthus, ranunculus, garden roses, spray roses, blackberries, peonies, sweet pea, tulips, hellebores, and scabiosa.
Our weakness, sparkly heels. These are Kate Spade Gold Sage Heels.
BTW, The moodboard that inspired this lovely color palette is yours for the pinning.
Okay, it’s becoming obvious why these two were able to go with their gut on this one.
You know there’s more…
In the end, their biggest struggle + biggest feat? Music! The Nouveau Romantics helped them snag Miles of Texas Pro DJs who encompassed all the different styles they wanted to incorporate (which a band couldn’t really do). Check out their wedding playlist on Spotify.
Katelyn says, There was a big rush in the first three months to lock down vendors and get the details situated, after that it seemed to slow down until invitations and RSVPs get sent out… There are so many options and details that you can become caught up with that aren’t really that important. If you prioritize what is most important to you before you start planning you can make decisions quicker and spend money where you will find most value. One of the best things they did was plan some get-togethers pre- wedding so that all of their out of town guests could mingle and get to know each other beforehand.
Cheers!
