Much like pulling off a wedding DIY (or two or ten), calligraphing your invites or signage makes for majorly proud moments. Which is kinda why Alyssa of Parris Chic Boutique puts on these calligraphy workshops: Your save the dates + wedding invitations are the first things guests see—it’s pretty neat to set the mood and make an impression yourself. PCB’s most recent workshop, photographed by Love & Light Photographs, was a particular success… Obvs we had to catch a glimpse of all the magic!
Alyssa tells it, I had been planning the class for months and knew that the gorgeous warehouse of Maggpie Vintage Rentals was a perfect place for the event. Hello countless tufted sofas and pretty gold bar carts! The students were greeted by numerous custom calligraphy goodies like personalized mugs and the lovely wood engraved place cards by Paper Birch Designs. I wanted to represent calligraphy as an art and keep an elegant, romantic, and classy feel for the day. Things like silk ribbon and the gorgeous blooms by Reveriemade helped to capture the essence.
This class would make a fun outing with your best pals, yeah?
I had so much fun designing the wine and champagne bottles with pretty calligraphy graphics. The students enjoyed some delicious desserts by Nutmeg Cake Design to go along with their bubbly, and those cupcakes we’re as beautiful as they tasted! I wanted to be sure to give the attendees a full calligraphy workshop experience and it turned out to be everything I had hoped for. There was so much learning, loving, and laughing going on and everything came together perfectly.
Thanks to Between Sleep & Awake for allowing us to share in the action…
