Friends, allow us to to introduce you to our A-list member Django Foxtrot. Whether or not you’re scouting out wedding music, who doesn’t want to be turned onto new tunes? If you haven’t heard the name before, Django Foxtrot is a group of young virtuoso players who blend true gypsy jazz with a huge range of interesting modern sounds—think anything from Lou Reed to Arcade Fire. Did we mention these guys now available for events in 2016 (private events + weddings all across Southern California are their specialty)? Now a little more about how the group came about…
Django Foxtrot started when talented and accomplished guitarist Nahum Zdybel hooked up with Dart DJ founders Michael David and Jesse Kivel to combine their talents + expertise to create a distinct sound you won’t find anywhere else. As individual artists, they all have such unique styles, so you can imagine the kind of sound you’ll get when they join forces. Really, go ahead and open a new tab with their samples and repertoire list here, if you’d like.As with traditional gypsy jazz, this trio consists of an upright bass and two guitarists. But… that doesn’t mean they’re not experimental or contemporary. Actually, they’ve been known to perform with various add ons and combinations involving vocalists, drums, violins, and clarinets. It’s really up to each event’s vibe and the specific feeling you’re trying to channel. Lots of possibilities.
If you or anyone you know is looking for a rad wedding artist to add to your vendor list, check ’em out on the Django Foxtrot website or our A-list here.
