Hopefully everyone’s all prepped and inspired for a fabulous Halloween weekend! (If not, just scroll through this week’s blog posts for all the dark and moody vibes you need.) This fall wedding editorial by Ashley Cook Photography seemed like a most fitting note to kick off the festivities on. She wanted to give the shoot a dark feel without having to forgo some beautiful natural light at this abandoned mill locale. The black, gold, and purple tones and the sun-soaked tablescape balanced both ideas for sure.
How’s this for dark ‘n dreamy? Good Seed Floral Design has autumn romance down, yeah?
Ashley tells it, An old abandoned mill, black candles, black lace gown, a gold cake, dark watercolor paper goods with gold calligraphy, and gorgeous floral designs all came together perfectly for this styled shoot. This is a shoot I have been wanting to do for over three years, so I brought Becky Hart from Event Crush on and the whole thing really started to come together!
Becky of Event Crush explains, What really made the shoot was the incredible location that Ashley found, an abandoned warehouse near the Oregon coast. It set the backdrop perfectly for this dramatic romance to take place. Shelly with Soft Peaks Cakery crafted an unbelievable cake for us, with gold lace detailing and cascading red flowers provided byGood Seed Floral Design. Ashley handmade the bride’s black lace and tulle dress, which was a huge focal point for the shoot and looked so stunning with the wild, dark bridal bouquet from Good Seed.
Can we talk about how into all of Katie Michelle Designs‘ paper goods we are? She has an Etsy shop too.
