Doesn’t a sunset picnic sound like the perfect eve? In San Diego, no less. Nichole of Nic.Roc. Designs and her guy are frequent sunset picnic-ers, which is how her bridal shower theme came about, a picnic with friends. With Melissa of MadMade Designs to translate the vibe, they went with bold bohemian accents + a jewel-toned color palette for. Amy Lynn’s photos will surely inspire a fête or two before the season ends.
Melissa of MadMade Designs explains, The theme inspired me to use saturated bold tones, Peruvian and Mexican textile patterns, and we combed through my vintage brass rental collection for just the pieces. I kept all the floral vessels consistent with the brass as not to compete but complement the overall look. My primary focus when styling Nichole’s shower was to layer from the ground up and evenly balance colors. I was drawn to using bold patterns paired with floral rugs topped with leather puffs and graphic pillows. The picnic table was the main attraction then I placed each vignette as an extension of the gathering.
A bar cart + dessert table + a floral crown and tattoo station = perf bridal shower activities.
Nic says, To add spice, I thought it would be fun to bring in the various cultural influences in San Diego: the sun and great weather, Mexican kitsch, and the boho babe. Melissa helped me plan out the style and perfectly executed every aspect of the shower. She and I decided to bring in lots of vintage pieces for the boho vibe, with mixtures of bright bold colors and textile designs to capture that touch of Mexican Kitsch.
The tabletop décor came together perfectly with table runners and an eclectic collection of vintage dishware, glassware, and flatware from Sundrop Vintage. Sarah of L&S Floral Design Co created the most luscious jewel toned centerpieces. The florals were to die for! Lots of greenery with garden spray roses, dahlias, ranunculus, Japanese anemones, ferns and more! The final touches to the floral arrangements were added on by Melissa. She provided brass vessels and candle stands to add that extra boho vibe. For a personal touch, Taryn of Twinkle & Toast provided each guests’ name in calligraphy and I laser cut these from bright turquoise acrylic and used these as place cards.
I was completely smitten and am forever thankful to all the hard work and effort these gals put forth into making this an unforgettable day for me. What made the day even more blissful was that I got to share it with some of my favorite people. It doesn’t get any better than that!
Congrats girl!
