A Sarah Seven gown + a campground in the woods = the bestest combo of whimsical and organic, don’t you think? K + J chose White Pine Camp because it was intimate enough for their 120 guests, historic (it was Calvin Coolidge’s campground while he was president), and nearby. Practical reasons, yes, but it was also surrounded by trees + exemplified their vintage rustic style. It even had a ton of great spots for Nicole Mason to snap a few portraits with them and their pup (bonus, much?)…
Like we said, lots of portrait ideas, including a boat house, antique bowling alley, and Japanese tea house across the bridge.
The dress had a small train and French-style bustle with a pearl + jewel cap sleeve and an added petite ribbon sash.
Katie says, We were going for a simple, casual yet elegant, high quality yet understated, meaningful, family-feel all while surrounded by nature. It was important to honor both of our families as they came together to celebrate the joining of two of their people. The ceremony was special, intimate, unique. A testimony to our relationship was done by my best friend and soul sister Kristine Kinsella and was especially memorable.
John’s nephew played an original piece on acoustic guitar down the aisle, and then he and a friend sang/played All I Want is You by Barry Louis Polisar as we took our first steps as husband and wife. For the first dance, my 94-year-old grandfather sang The Hawaiian Wedding Song by Elvis Presley. My father and I danced to My Girl and Shake Your Groove Thing.
Congrats guys!
