When your goal is to show off a California hidden gem to family and friends (60 to be exact) traveling for your wedding, it’s not hard to see why you might choose Ojai. Mountain views, the bright open sky, a quintessential California landscape just waiting to be adorned with flowers… You get the idea. Big thanks to the talented The Why We Love for sharing Mary + Andy’s photos and video.
And the bride’s description of her bouquet? A king protea and succulents for daysss.
Mary says, We didn’t have a theme so much as a desire to bring our loved ones (both of our families are from the Midwest) to a part of California they had never been and showcase our favorite side of what’s become our home. Ojai is beautiful. Once we found the ranch, every other design element was easy. We (and our lovely florist, Julianne deSilva) just made sure what we brought in matched the beauty of what was already there.

Mary says, I think the biggest hurdle was trying to do everything ourselves while still making our families and friends the focus. I think we managed it alright in the end, but that meant our families and friends helped out so much, too. We are very grateful to everyone involved—which leads me to the only nugget of advice to throw out: Be grateful.
Well said. Congrats guys!
