We’re always so inspired by the delicate colors and rituals of spring. And the anticipation of the coming wedding season, of course! We made this lovely DIY coconut salt scrub with Gift Registry picks from our friends at Crate and Barrel, and we’re so excited to share it with you all today. It would make such thoughtful gifts for your ‘maids, or even a fun hands-on activity at a bridal shower.
The key ingredients… coconut butter and a rose gold spoon. *wink*
The ingredients themselves are just so pretty. And those little branch spoons add such a fun bit of whimsy to any project or party in the kitchen. And a great Gift Registry tip… be sure to add a selection of small plates and bowls to your dinnerware collection. We use them alllll the time for setting out small bits in the kitchen or on the dinner table or just around the house. These, these, and these are must haves!
To make the scrub:
Melt coconut butter in the microwave or over a double boiler. Pour into a mixing bowl (we love the whole Roscoe set for it’s interesting shapes and colors), and add the fractionated coconut oil. Slowly pour in the salt, mixing as you go.
When it’s nicely mixed, add the essential oils of your choice. Now let the mixture sit until the coconut butter solidifies again. It may take a while for it to cool off, so if you’re in a rush you can put it in the refrigerator. And be sure to mix it periodically as it cools.
Pack it into jars, like these beautiful and functional Weck canning jars, and top with flowers and citrus zest if you like. Lavender works well because it’s fragrant, small, and won’t wilt.
Add a pretty gift tag if you’re sharing these with ladies you love, or enjoy during your next shower or bath! (The above are from our friends at Sugar Paper.)
