Colorful eclectic Italian wedding: Eva + Filippo

April 5, 2016
Colorful eclectic Italian wedding

We’re no strangers to Eva of Chic Weddings in Italy’s style. We’ve seen her dream up a colorful Italian food market wedding + a rad Romeo & Juliet themed editorial. So it’s no surprise that her own wedding to vintage shop manager Filippo would also be daring and unconventional. Just wait till you see all the details (including her *blue* wedding dress) shot by Cinzia Bruschini & Lisa Poggi

Custom wedding dress

Gotta hear about that dress, right? Eva was inspired by a Monique Lhuillier gown no longer in production, so she headed to an atelier Anna Battaggia, who created a completely custom piece. It had a blue paint graphic printed on the fabric that the tailor then created on her body. Stunning!

With a floral tambourine in hand, who needs a bridal bouquet?

They officially said I Do in the morning with only a few friends and fam around, and then moved to the countryside near where they grew up to celebrate on their own historic property. Then they entered their procession (which was a parade!) to Holiday by Madonna. What else?! It totally fit their day.

Eva says, My favorite moment was when we entered the path that lead to our friends and family who were tossing confetti, glitter, etc to us. Everyone was singing Holiday, (guests had the lyrics at hand) and it was a magical moment. We felt so much joy; it was like in a movie. Also, when I finally had the chance to see in reality what my mind had designed but was put up in place on that day by my team of colleagues, my heart exploded.

You know this vintage circus caravan (!!!) has a story too. They actually just rented it because they really needed toilets for guests. But obvs it was so cool everyone used the façade as a photo backdrop.

We wanted our event to represent us in every aspect, and we wanted to reflect our own personalities, the fact that we travel so much, our attraction for different cultures, and different religions. We wanted to achieve an event full of details taken from all the weddings Eva has produced so far and from all the folk traditions of each culture.

Eva’s tip as a planner and bride: If you can, organize another day to connect with guests. She says, This day is very overwhelming for the couple, everyone wants to talk to you, take a picture with you, celebrate you and you would like to spend time with everyone but it’s not possible. We enjoyed many of our friends on the day after the wedding when we hosted a beach party and we could talk to everyone in a normal situation.

Cheers!
