Been a minute we’ve swooned over a sultry black wedding cake around these parts, hasn’t it? Extra points if it’s full of sparkly flecks of blush and gold, and topped with one sweet rose, like in the beauty by Whipped Cakes & Confections above. And you can imagine how this blush + black + gold color story might translate to a dreamy winter elopement, huh? Lucky us, photogs Sarah Aaron & Megan Harris, along with designer Christine McFarlane and the team below leave nothing up to the imagination in this glamorous shoot:
The first glimpse of this black and blush color palette in action? The invites + calligraphy. Totally in awe of Grove Lettering Co‘s work over here!
Inspired by the season, the team strived to embody the warmth and intimacy winter weddings can bring indoors. Tucked outside of the main square in Annapolis, and steps away from the waterfront views, Blackwall Hitch allows for the privacy of a small “dinner party” type reception, but all the drama of a true celebration.
Mauve is one of our fave hues as of late, and it’s not just for spring.
Yep, definitely captivated by the idea of an intimate dinner party with all “the drama of a true celebration”. Yes please.
Glam brides, are you taking notes?! (Or better yet, pinning away?)
Surrounded by bold black details and tones of deep maroon, the bride created a rich contrast in her long sleeve, lace applique dress with a classic blusher for a hint of drama. Mauve glassware paired with ruby red water goblets were the perfect accents to the marbleized plates that completed the elegant tablescape. In true winter fashion, a hint of metallic in the form of gold foil could be found on the dinnerware, linen napkins, invite and on each tier of the cake itself.

Black butter cream, espresso + berry signature sips, and a seasonal charcuterie board made this winter wedding extra alluring. Perfect holiday party inspo to keep in your back pocket, too! Big thanks to the crew below for sharing today:
