Where are all our dinner party aficionados at? With summer officially upon us (cue applause!), it’s time to call up a few dear friends and invite them to your space for fresh summer fare, yummy wine, and good conversation. That’s what summer’s all about, no? Earlier this month we got the chance to pretty up our new spot, Festoon LA, complete with Parachute Home‘s new tabletop collection, in a cozy little start-of-summer soiree. Read on for deets on the collection, and our pointers for creating the look yourself. Because you’ll definitely want to host after this one!
You’ll never go wrong with a simple place setting for summer. Chambray Fringe Napkins are stop no. 1 in creating a vibe of casual elegance fit for a dinner party in June. All of the textured linens layered together makes for a warm spot to gather ’round.
Extra points for matching attire!
It’s easy to pack linens away for special occasions, but you’ll actually want this tan linen tablecloth out for every meal all summer long. It elevates everyday meals *just so*, and is super easy to build upon for bigger celebrations (but every warm, sunny day is kind of a celebration to us).
Big fans of the low table whether al fresco or indoors! Make sure you stock up on big, fluffy pillows if you go low, the more the merrier.
We’ve hooked up with Felisa from Of The Flowers on some pretty rad colorful florals in the past, so we were REALLY excited to see these greenery, farm-to-table inspired arrangements to pair with the neutral tabletop. Did not disappoint, obvs!
When creating a menu, we like to keep the food along the same lines as our color palette and theme, in this case a relaxed garden party. AKA lots of fresh, seasonal bites and beautiful, yummy greens. Whoa Nelly Catering (whose focus is exactly on seasonal, sustainable SoCal catering) came up with the most beautiful and delicious spread of shared plates including white bean and chickpea hummus, charred crostini with smoked ricotta, market lettuces, grilled flatbread with figs, and lots of late spring veggies.
A nice, neutral linen napkin is kind of a universal must for entertainers. And by entertainers we mean people like us who just want to make every occasion a bit more special and interesting! You will use them for *everything*. Click here to see other options in addition to the skinny stripe (our personal fave). May we recommend a full set of both the linen and the chambray variety?
Then you can do a little mix ‘n match action at the table. ‘Cause, variety!
And here is a peek at the Chambray Fringe Napkins in berry. It’s the softest dusty pink given the sun-bleached chambray effect with dark and white yarns woven together. All of the pieces in this collection are made of 100% linen from European flax and crafted in Portugal. These napkins have half-inch fringe on all four sides.
(Can we just have these gingersnap sandwich cookies all day everyday? They’re filled with vanilla bean buttercream, we mean…!)
