Cakies, you’ll love how Lily + Rick incorporated their history into their vintage-inspired wedding design. They’re both from different cities in China, but met and fell in love in business school at USC, then spent their entire relationship working in different cities and time zones, traveling back and forth from LA to SF to Toronto. So when it came to choose the concept behind their blush + emerald wedding, they incorporated their hometowns, their long-distance homes, and the city they met in—starting with their venue, the University Club at USC.

The only color L + R knew for sure they wanted in their wedding was blush. When the team at Lovely Time Weddings & Events suggested emerald, they knew it was the perfect complement… especially with their love of vintage elegance.

All of the paper details included different landmarks and a skyline featuring their cities.
Lily’s bridal bouquet from Siren Floral Co featured *the* most romantic mix of garden roses including koko loko and distant drums, jasmine, blush scabiosa, and blush peonies.
How cute is this vintage suitcase?! They also wrote their own vows and their ceremony was based on the idea that with marriage, their separation—including their time long distance now ends. So sweet!
Lily tells it, I started planning over 10 months earlier. I had the idea about how the wedding would look like. I wanted to present a complete love story to our 40 guests from the invitations to the wedding day, and how we presented our wedding theme in the ceremony, welcome table, cocktail area and reception. At first, we only wanted to hire a coordinator, but after two months researching we decided to choose a full service planner instead. Luckily, we found Lovely Time Weddings & Events!
