You guys flipped when we posted a little teaser of this sultry winter wedding editorial on our Insta the other day. Trust us when we say you’ll feel the same way about every other detail stylist Annika Noordzij + photog Marilyn Bartman dreamt up. Instead of color, their inspiration was a feeling, the concept of “untamable love”, which they worked their magic around for each element.

Annika says, Since the concept of the shoot is ‘untamable love’ and takes place surrounding a wild and mysterious woman, we wanted the styling to match this. We chose dark and moody colors, natural elements like, copper and wood and plates made of ceramics. We also chose surroundings featuring these elements, like trees, earth, water, and fire. For the flowers we chose a combination of large romantic blooms and loose tendrils which Mooi Anders made into beautiful bouquets and table runners.

They chose an old church + a forest for their love story.

Looking at these images I can see this as great inspiration for any type of season. Because for a summer wedding you can have dark flowers, dresses with long embellished sleeves also. It fits perfectly with a sultry summer night. But the atmosphere also forms a nice contrast with the light colors of winter. What is an important message for us is: plan your wedding day around a certain feeling or mood that you feel the day should have. Don’t get stuck on what matches exactly with what but rather on the feeling it will give you and your guests.

Btw, the cake is made by baker Healthy Piece of Cake who focuses on healthier treats like the above. Um, is this not the prettiest reason ever to consider an alternative cake?

If any of you planning are struggling with the concept of a theme, we’re guessing this helped you find your answer, thanks to the guys below. Find the feeling you want to evoke and run with it.
