Well it’s officially late summer, so you better believe we’re making the most of it with not one or two but *three* summer cocktails that we crafted with the help of our friends at Crate & Barrel. Of course, no matter what season it is you want to have nice barware on hand, considering you generally break out the fancy cocktails when guests are around. And if you’ve recently said I Do, a little end-of-summer shindig is a great time to share some of the wedding registry gifts you received from some of the very same people who might even be in attendance.
Onto the cocktail recipes… Did we mention how easy peasy they are to whip up?
The Paloma
¼ cup fresh grapefruit juice + the peel for garnish
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1 teaspoon sugar
¼ cup Mezcal
salt for rim
club soda to top
Rim a glass (such as Tour Double Old-Fashioned Glass) with salt. Juice grapefruit and add it + lime juice and sugar to cocktail shaker. (You’ll recognize the Orb Cocktail Shaker if you’ve seen this summer cocktail we did last year. So pretty!) Add in sugar, ice, and Mezcal and shake to combine. Pour into glass and top with club soda.
No qualms about drawing out summer as looooong as possible here!
Don’t forget to garnish with grapefruit peel using these cocktail picks.
For those of you that want something a teensy bit less sweet, The Shandy is the way to go.
The Shandy is as easy as it gets, and since it’s a beer cocktail the Half Pint Glass Tumbler with Crown is an obvious choice of vessel. For each drink, you want to mix Hefeweizen + lemonade, about 1 parts lemonade to 2 parts beer, but ratios are totally up to personal preference with this one.
There’s no comparison to fresh lemonade, right? Garnish with a lemon wedge.
How pretty is the Pryce Coupe Champagne Glass? It looks nice and summery now, but you’ll want to keep these babies around for the holidays too.
The coupes pair perfectly with the 11 Piece Boxed Bar Set (registry item alert!). Get them both and you have yourself a fantastic starter set for the at-home bar.
Cucumber Lime Cocktail
2 oz. cucumber vodka
2 oz. tonic water
1 oz. cucumber juice (gotta juice this one yourself)
fresh lime juice to taste
2 tablespoons simple syrup
fresh mint sprigs
1 fresh cucumber, sliced length-wise
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker, shake to combine, and fill coupe. Add cucumber slices and fresh sprigs of mint to garnish.
Uno, dos, très!
Barware, check. Colorful drinks, check. Basically, the recipe for your next party (and insta too)!
