Happy New Year Cakies! Hope your January is off to a lovely start. If our first real wedding of 2016 is any indication of the rest of the year, we say bring it on! Katelyn + Brandon loved the charming rustic vibes at Tiber Canyon Ranch in San Luis Obispo, CA but wanted to inject a little color and vibrancy as well. Turns out it’s a pretty perfect combo! Thanks to Danielle Poff Photography for sending these images our way…
We have a hunch you’ll be asking about this bouquet April Flowers dreamt up… The recipe: peach + golden garden rose, oak leaf hydrangea, silver dollar eucalyptus, dusty miller, tree peony, snapdragon, Icelandic poppy, parrot tulip, and scented geranium.
Isn’t J. Crew’s ‘Bright Seaside’ the prettiest color ever? See more inspo on K’s Pinterest.
Katelyn tells it, Tiber Canyon Ranch embodied everything I love about SLO, from the beautiful oak trees and manzanitas to the breathtaking views of Edna Valley. Eclectic and antique pieces of furniture and decorations scatter the grounds, and the bridal cottage and groom’s quarters were very rustic and charming. The venue created an intimate and “homey” atmosphere that all of our guests loved, and the owners, Chris and Will, were incredibly accommodating. We knew from the moment we saw Tiber that it would be perfect the small (110 guests), casual outdoor wedding we were hoping for.
A few personal deets…
• Katie’s dad used wood from their old backyard fence to craft wooden boxes for the flowers and their calligraphed welcome sign.
• A family friend made them a custom wooden heart frame with their date.
• Katie’s mom spray painted mason jars gold for candles and jars for the bouquets.
• She also found an old mailbox that Rosey Calligraphy transformed into a card holder and sewed travel size pillows for the bride + bridesmaids.
• They turned a spray painted pail into the “bucket list” guests could contribute ideas to.
Cute!
The biggest hurdle was getting people to RSVP, and then figuring out seating charts (I had to adjust them again 3 days before the wedding). It was definitely the most stressful part of the wedding. My biggest advice is book your vendors ASAP, especially if you plan to have your wedding in a desirable area. Our wedding would not have been the same without our amazing team of vendors.
They pulled everything off for $25,000. Wishing you the best, K + B!
