When we found out that Ethan + Lirona planned their DTLA wedding in five weeks, yes, weeks (let that sink in for a moment…), we assumed they’d have tons to say about how to pull off a design as incredible as in such a small amount of time. But you know what they told us? That planning will fill up as much time as you give it. So true for engagements long and short. Clearly the time constraint worked for them, as Mein Schatz Events was able to create their dream day in just over two months with an incredible team on every detail, including Jenn Emerling behind the lens.
Some words from their coordinator/designer Mein Schatz Events… Ethan and Lirona were ready to get married, and didn’t want to wait any longer than necessary. They gravitated towards a traditional design, but wanted to keep things fun with bohemian, vintage furniture, TWO cocktail hours, a rocking Klezmer Band, and a few surprises along the way. Guests were treated to a candy bar, custom poetry by Poet Jacqueline Suskin, and were entered into a raffle where they could win free nights of babysitting, gift certificates to Rustic Canyon (the couple’s favorite spot) or a bottle of Champagne.
They didn’t have a wedding party per se, but how sweet is this? Lirona’s 7 year old was the flower girl-ring bearer-maid of honor.
Ethan says, We loved that Vibiana was elegant and dramatic, that it had a beautiful outdoor space, was stunning inside and that chef Neal Fraser of Redbird created a delicious pescetarian menu that we and our guests would be excited to eat.
They modeled their navy, gold, and off-white color scheme off of their 1927 Spanish-style Santa Monica home.
They also mingled with guests during cocktail hours before + after the ceremony. Who wouldn’t be into that?
So beautiful (and impressive). Congrats E + L!
