Guys, we’re always excited to share a couple’s big day with you, but today we have to admit we’re extra thrilled. You might recall that back in January we co-hosted a private registry event with our friends at Crate and Barrel, during which we got to know some incredible couples, including Jenny + John. These two ended up being the winners of one of our prizes, which included a wedding package with LVL Weddings & Events at the new (and if you didn’t get from this first photo, amazing) venue Ebell of Long Beach! We’ve been dying to see it ever since, obvs. Today we get the pleasure of showing off all the photos Scott Clark captured of the day, not to mention hear all about J + J’s experience. Ready?!
Pretty, pretty!
Jenny says, I really wanted to make my dress but once we got engaged we were so excited to tie the knot, we had a six month engagement. I felt it safer to purchase a dress. So, to still make it my own, I modified an already beautiful Monique Lhuillier gown. With the help of my dear friend Erin, owner of Erin Cole Couture Bridal, we chose a dress and she let me do my thing. I took out layers of tulle and cut a dangerously high slit. I loved it even more after!
How cute is this?
The first time we saw each other was while walking down the aisle. We locked eyes and I almost couldn’t hold it together. He was already crying and his legs looked a little like limp pasta! Thank god I had our two boys on each side of me, walking me down the aisle. (We each have a son, ten and twelve.) That was a pretty powerful moment. But if we had to choose one, we would say our son’s speeches. They told us they were giving speeches but wouldn’t let us read them. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house. They were so sweet and eloquent. They made everyone laugh and cry. There was so much love in the room. I’m tearing up now as I wrote this! It was so sweet to see our family officially become one.
Loving this tabletop, aren’t you?
Had to get some planning deets from Jen of LVL Weddings & Events too…Working with Jenny & John was an absolute dream! Jenny had a clear idea of what she wanted their wedding day to feel like and a great eye for décor. We stayed true to the eclectic vibe of Ebell Long Beach with its patterned tile flooring, swanky library lounge, and old world architecture. We added a modern Moroccan twist with lush greenery, styled rental furniture from Found Vintage Rentals, and colored glassware from borrowed BLU. I wanted to be sure to highlight the unique spirit of this adventurous, fun-loving couple and we did so in ways of not only styling, but also in how we chose to incorporate their kids into various special moments throughout the night.
So many more fun moments in our gallery, too…
A few final words from our bride… We’re so laid back that I think friends were worried if they were going to show up to an empty room. We couldn’t have done it without LVL Weddings & Events, Jen was my rock! I never stressed about anything and just sort of checked things off the list one by one.
Wishing you the best, Jenny and John!
