Cakies, if this scene is as dreamy to you as it is to us, you’re in for a real treat today. Taking a nod from California wedding trends for their decor, Carola + Jesus adorned the breathtaking venue that is Marques de Montemolar in Alicante and made what was already a Mediterranean oasis even more magical. It’s the very spot Carola had always dreamed of saying I Do! We almost couldn’t believe our eyes when designer Paloma Cruz sent their wedding our way, but there’s enough gorgeous photos by Oscar Guillen to prove it. Take a peek!
Prettiest bridal braid!
Carola says, We had the traditional wedding by church on the day before our wedding where we dressed up with a different wedding suit and dress and had a pre-wedding cocktail afterwards, as we wanted to get married by church but the priest would not marry us at the wedding venue because it was not a sacred place. So the following day, the wedding day, we had the priest at the ceremony marrying us (again) and we were able to have a traditional wedding with a modern and romantic style on a beautiful viewpoint facing the Mediterranean Sea.
The bride’s Pronovias gown and veil were too perfect for this venue. Her mom crafted her a headpiece inspired by the bouquet flowers.
Their live painter stayed for the two hour cocktail party, and now they have a beautiful record of everything that happened during that time.
We knew we wanted summer vibes, a dinner under the sunset, with lots of lights and flowers all over the wedding setting. Food was also in the wedding style, with typical Mediterranean dishes but with a modern style and fusion dishes. We also asked the catering to include a local wine from Alicante to offer a Mediterranean wine experience. The dinner decoration was absolutely magical, guests kept saying it felt like a fairytale.
Lighting is everything, you guys. Got it??
Their stunning ceremony arch by Atelier de la Flor was moved to the head table for the reception, so the bride and groom could still be surrounded by the beautiful blooms.
Marques de Montemolar has the Mediterranean style and the sea in front of the venue, and faces a beautiful town called Altea, which is one of our favorite places. We liked it a lot not only because of the beautiful setting but also because it allowed us to have a particular place for each and every part of the wedding. A viewpoint for the ceremony, a space in front of the sea for the cocktail, a space in front of the palace for dinner and inside the palace a place for dancing and the party. We wanted a venue where guests had to move from one place to another.
So, so beautiful. Le sigh! See more photos from C + J’s romantic Spain wedding here:
