Midwinter calls for a little beach getaway, don’t you think? Katie + Matt’s California wedding as designed by Katie of Intertwined Events at Montage Laguna Beach will be a much-needed respite. They mixed coastal elegance with boho details, all in a spot overlooking the gorgeous ocean for their 200 guests to soak up. (It’s *right there*!) Not to mention, their story is so so sweet—it does involve a pilates proposal, after all—so be sure to read along as you scroll through the photos Josh Elliott Studios shared!
Um, hellooooo, beach wedding of our dreams! Incredible, right?
Katie wore a light, airy Lea-Ann Belter gown from Lace & Bustle Bridal, and her bridesmaids were adorned in power blue Show Me Your Mumu dresses.
The bouquet recipe by Inviting Occasion: lace scabiosa, peonies, garden roses, ranunculus, astilbe, blushing bride protea, & eucalyptus
Katie of Intertwined Events explains, Katie and Matt said their vows on the Ocean Lawn with a never-ending view of the waves. After cocktail hour, guests were welcome onto the Pacific Lawn for dinner. We loved the idea of watching the sun set over the ocean and dining under the stars. Guests were seated at a mix of long, farmhouse tables and rounds dressed in sea blue linens. Tables were adorned with layers of macramé, florals, candles and anything and everything you can find in the ocean from sea urchin shells to sea glass. Inviting Occasion placed each item perfectly to create a show stopping and unique centerpiece for every table.Had to share a closeup of this handsome little dude in his Appaman suit.
Aren’t all the dip-dye macramé details so perfect here?
There were a few statement pieces throughout the day. From the eye-catching seating chart that featured custom made, dip-dyed macramé to the wicker lantern installation over the head table and the macramé installation behind the band, every part of the day featured a ‘WOW!’ moment. Everything flowed beautifully from the ceremony to the reception and afterparty.
Officially obsessed with this beachy hue.
After dinner, guests headed indoors to party with ice cream bars in hand.
Their story, from our bride… We met at a bar in San Francisco’s Marina district one night in 2012. Matt walked up to me and said that he would kick himself if he left without saying hi. We found out we had a mutual friend and the rest was history! For the proposal: I teach Pilates and in our 4+ years of dating at the time, Matt had never been to a single class. One night just before Thanksgiving in 2016, Matt surprised me with a bunch of our best friends to take my class. At the end of the class, he proposed! I had no idea he was planning to—I was honestly so shocked he came to a class it didn’t even occur to me he could be proposing!
All the best to M + K!
