Cakies, meet our bride Addie. Doesn’t she have the most stunning modern bridal style?! Those earrings. That dress. You’d never believe she tried on over 80 (and nearly gave up!) before finding *the one*. A pretty good case for that ol’ “never settle” advice, eh? Snag a closer peek as you scroll through Jenn Emerling‘s photos of her + Ken’s Greengate Ranch wedding, which Wild Heart Events and Idlewild Floral styled in the prettiest mauve, blush, and mustard color palette.
Jennifer Behr‘s earrings are so insanely perfect for this bride!!Her bridesmaids each chose their own modern, floor-length black dress to don on the big day.
Addie tells it, We really loved the relaxed boho look, but with both of us being from San Francisco, we wanted to give a nod to the city and make sure there was some industrial grit peppered in. Ken lived in DC and London and loves to get fancy and dressed up, while I’m California born and bred—a real t-shirt and jeans kind of girl. Our overall theme was “California Black Tie”—elevated and chic, but relaxed and comfortable.
(Still ogling over those earrings, tbh.)
The whole design is the perfect mix of playful and elegant (with a trendy twist), don’t you think?
Super creative table number idea, right here.
Greengate is beautiful in its own right, but what really sold us were the amazing rental properties on site. We had a lot of guests coming from afar, and having the whole property to ourselves and being able to celebrate for the entire weekend was something we’ll never forget. We’re getting all sorts of requests for a repeat!
Everyone partied to Dart Collective under this amazing macrame-disco-ball-dried-floral installation.
Most memorable moment for us was our first dance. Ken worked in the Peace Corps, humanitarian aid, and has made a career out of helping people, so I’ve frequently called him “my Captain America.” We chose a classic song featured at the end of “Avengers: Endgame” where Captain America finally got to dance with the love of his life. It felt too perfect, and we still get misty-eyed thinking about it. The wild dance floor shenanigans are a very close second.
A few words from the team… Addie + Ken really allowed us to take the reins which resulted in a dream team of vendors and unique, experiential day for their guests! We greeted guests with mimosas to commemorate Addie and Ken’s first date at a bottomless mimosa brunch. Carla from Idlewild Floral nailed the Industrial Bohemian ceremony aesthetic with a modern, iron circle adorned with textural florals and grasses. Guests were then ushered to cocktail hour and served craft cocktails by Sidecar SLO along tasty bites from Field to Table Catering. We collaborated with Cecile Paper Co. on a fun cane webbing and printed fabric seating chart, and carried the cane webbing into our tabletop design though the runners on the long tables and custom table numbers.
A + K made sure to lock in their dream vendors right away, which made the rest of planning pretty relaxed, as they knew they had a crew they could trust to execute the bestest day. And, well, isn’t it just magic?! Cheers, you two!
