Oh hello, 2019! How about we kick off the year with the sweetest San Francisco wedding? Laurie + Jessie have a magical love story that spans almost 15 years and includes two kiddos, so they had a ton to celebrate when it came time to make it official. The focal point of the day was a ceremony at Cavallo Point that included all four of them, with Oscar + Juliette joining for a ceremonial signing of the marriage certificate. A wine country-inspired reception followed—a nod to the dream home they’d just finished building—complete with the perfect food and wine, and lots of music and dancing. Thanks to Kristen Marie Parker and our guide member Riley Loves Lulu for sharing!
All the bouquets and arrangements by Chestnut & Vine Floral Design had an organic, wine country feel with lots of neutrals and greenery.
Our story is a whirlwind of romance. Jesse was a local Burlesque dancer with The Lollies and The San Francisco Burlesque Orchestra and her troupe performed for Laurie’s birthday party. Jesse was also Laurie’s Pilates trainer at a studio called The Body Gallery. After the birthday party performance, Laurie took Jesse to Italy for two weeks over the summer of 2004. It was mad love right from the beginning!
Such an idyllic location for a ceremony, don’t you think? They made sure the area was large enough for their children to join, and the decor was kept low so it wouldn’t detract from the view.
Cuties!
Our wedding style was natural and simple. There are majestic eucalyptus trees bordering the ceremony site, there is the stunning San Francisco Bay and the foggy scented air. Our wedding had all these color elements and feelings. Jesse also loves wild flowers and especially Queen Anne’s Lace, and our amazing florist and graphic designer included this subtle touch all over the day. Our colors were pale greens, silver, cream and teal. The flowers were gorgeous! They were so delicate and wild and had every guest exclaiming at their beauty.
They added deep purple and orange in small doses and used ceramic vessels and wooden details for that casual upscale feel of Sonoma.
We had our ideas in every aspect of the wedding but we also trusted the professionals to help us make final decisions. Our officiant was a dear family friend. Jesse kept a strong connection going with the DJ, as the music and dancing felt like a huge and important part. Laurie had herself reflected in the food, she wanted a perfect meal paired with just the right wines. Every person there should feel spoiled by all the food and merriment.
Oscar and Juliette wore J. Crew and Jenny Yoo, with his bowtie matching the fabric of her dress.
A beautiful way to start the new year, we think. Congrats to Laurie + Jesse!
