Happy Monday, Cakies! Don’t know if we’ve seen more beautiful, elegant, and thoughtful details packed seamlessly into one wedding design than in Emerald + Franks Parisian nuptials. OMG, it’s just that incredible. But let’s back up: that view of the Eiffel Tower? It wasn’t just a portrait session around town, the venue itself (they hosted a rooftop welcome party too, of course), had the most spectacular views. Perfect for an Australian couple with a love of Paris, if you ask us!

Très chic.
Our bride Emerald used to live in Paris, and it was one of the first trips she took with Frank from Australia. It was their dream destination and 140 friends and fam came along for the ride.
The Knot & Pop team created flower plaster cast coasters, table numbers, table plan plinths and lounge trays to pair with the endless personalized details placed throughout the venue.
Susie of Knot & Pop says, Set in a wonderfully historic Parisian building—The Mona Bismarck American Centre, with a view of the Eiffel Tower, that perfectly blended the old with the new, we took inspiration from the couple, to design a day that gave them plenty of fun filled, and magical moments.
Opting for a fun and lively palette, we introduced lots of expressive ideas to give the guests plenty to do—from the arrival welcome board with individual welcome messages to each guest, to the bells to ring upon the first kiss, the vellum pocket envelope confetti bags, the Paris pop up cafe terrace, the Eiffel Tower table plan, to a show-stopping staircase feature, inviting bar and lounge area and photo booth corner. We even threw in the idea of a Can Can dance troop at midnight!
Floresie brought their floral dreams to life with a modern pink ceremony arch and red + blush blooms at every turn. Here’s that Parisian cafe inspired terrace!
And the staircase, WOW.
Arrangements were filled with red + pink anthurium, carnations, roses, grasses, dill, and pom pom dahlias.
We concentrated on shots of red, mixing with pale pinks, soft blues, grey tones and highlights of gold. We introduced different materials into the design, with beautiful Japanese inspired ceramics for tableware plates and beakers that fused perfectly with the Japanese wallpapered dining room. We also commissioned Kintsugi inspired pinch pots for each place setting, and a stationery suite that took inspiration from this ancient Japanese craft.
Just the most stunning design in a spectacular space… Le sigh!
It was an event design that like the venue’s history, embodied the old with the new—a fusion of the past and the future. We perfectly married vintage Oriental and Mid Century Modern furniture, with contemporary and artisanal touches. It was fun, it was different and it was totally unique to our lovely couple—Emerald and Frank, Mr & Mrs!
We mean… What else?!

From the bride…
I hadn’t ever thought about my wedding until Frank proposed. I just knew I wanted it to be in Paris in a beautiful old French building filled with all our closest friends and family, with epic music, food and wine. I knew what I wanted in terms of flowers as I love anthuriums, but to be honest I left the rest up to Knot & Pop. Susie has the most incredible eye for design and completely understood my style.
It was fairly late in the game to be planning a wedding in Paris in peak wedding season so the choice of venues was somewhat limited. Of course I wanted the venue to be beautiful but I also wanted to make sure we had control over our suppliers (alcohol, DJ etc) and I wanted to be able to stay and party late into the night. The venue we chose, The Mona Bismarck American Centre, really had it all. It was a gorgeous old mansion with a picturesque outdoor space and beautifully ornate (if somewhat shabby chic) interiors, and we were able to choose all of our suppliers except for the caterer (and it was hands down the best meal I have had at a wedding!).
Congratulations to E + F, and their mega talented creative team on such a beautiful Paris wedding!
