Shaudee + Rohun tied the knot at one of our top SoCal wedding venues Cielo Farms, elevating the already-gorgeous space with personal details and Persian traditions. Making it even more special, the groom had proposed on the beach in Malibu during golden hour in 2020, so their location and color palette mirrored their engagement. The fluffy clouds of babies breath, champagne-hued bridesmaid dresses, and Italian garden vibes all came together in what their planner Star Hansen Events dubbed ‘golden hour glam’. Love this elegant Vera Wang wedding dress with its flowing sleeves! The bride says, Every detail of the day was picked to enhance the dream-like quality of the day, from the location of Cielo Farms (those views!), to the babies breath ceremony, to the ombre flower arrangements, to the chandeliers in the olive trees and walkway, to the vintage champagne coupes in the gold and glass champagne library, to the signage throughout.
Michelle of Creative Light Design lined the aisles with clouds of babies breath to add to the ethereal, dream-like feel.
The bride knew she wanted to incorporate a sofreh aghd, which is an elegant ceremony spread seen in traditional Persian weddings, while staying true to their modern style. They brought in Terry Ajdar of Elegant Sofreh Design, who helped them make it look like the sofreh had grown out of the ground with the babies breath surrounding it.
While we kept to baby’s breath for the ceremony (colors: whites, creams, neutrals), Star came up with a really fun idea to add all the golden hour colors as the day went on, so we started to add some color during cocktail hour (pinks and golden yellows) in the flowers and then by the reception all colors were present (whites, creams, neutrals, pinks, golden yellows and finally terra-cotta). We did something really fun with the long table flower arrangements where the darkest colors are in the middle and as it fans out on both sides towards the end of the tables, the flower arrangements changed from the darkest terracotta in the middle to pink then to golds and creams and finally to white, one long ombre flower arrangement if you will.
We both knew we wanted a completely outdoor wedding and a venue that was naturally beautiful, but we never thought we would find somewhere as stunning as Cielo Farms. It felt like a dream from the minute we walked in and we immediately knew that this is where we wanted to get married, up in the sky with so much natural beauty surrounding us.
A theme that ran throughout our wedding was golden hour—the colors, the magic, the romance and that dreamy feeling that that time brings each day. Fun fact: our first dance as husband and wife was to Golden Hour by Kacey Musgraves and we danced to it outside during golden hour.
