Before we fawn over these incredibly stunning photos Safeena of Little Boat Photography shared, we’ve gotta tell you a bit about Brandon + Jacklyn’s big day. Jackie says, A vintage, European open air market with plenty of rich jewel tones, greenery, and cultural nods would best sum up the theme of our wedding. These two managed to pull of their unique, foodie-inspired wedding at Serra Plaza here in SoCal in just six months with the help of Posh-itively Perfect Events—despite spending that timeframe away from each other in NY and LA. Pretty impressive, if you ask us!
Jackie says, I am mostly Mexican, but also a true francophile as I worked in the South of France during 3 very formative months of my life. As a government and history major at University, Brandon loves history in any sense and was immediately drawn to ancient looking buildings as well as other aspects that were reminiscent of a past time. For these reasons, we chose to take our photos at the Mission San Juan Capistrano, where the surroundings can make you feel as if you transported to any old town in Europe. Likewise, our venue at Serra Plaza was very transformative as it took on our hopes for creating our own European market-like feast for our friends and family while embracing some of my cultural roots being in San Juan Capistrano.

Old Orchard Press was behind the loveliest paper pretties.Their story, which began while students at Cornell University…
After a plethora of foodie dinner dates ending with full bellies and joyous hearts, their love began to outgrow their fondness for steak tartare, sushi, and the occasional hole in the wall gem. These two, who began as mere acquaintances, soon became much much more. Upon graduation, Jacklyn began work at the Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills while Brandon began law school at USC. After many months patiently driving against LA’s gridlock traffic to visit each other for the few spare hours they found themselves with, Brandon decided to arrange the most perfect proposal for his sweetheart.
Atop the hotel’s helipad, Brandon invited some of their closest friends to fly out to witness such a moment. After devising a plan to get Jackie to the top of the helipad on a rainy day, in the middle of winter, amidst the craziness of the Golden Globes weekend with the help of her boss, Jackie found herself staring at her fiancé-to-be. Brandon stood in the middle of the helipad and then dropped to one knee as the sun began to set on a 360 degree view of Los Angeles. After she made an emphatic declaration of her love for the ring (the ring was too pretty to not give credit to its beauty), Jackie responded to the popped question with a confident “YEAH!”
Can’t go wrong with a venue like this!
Aside from getting married to Brandon, our food selection was probably my biggest highlight. Seeing the lambs on the spit throughout the wedding was fantastic and definitely created a more homey means of food distribution. I had always wanted unique food aspects at my wedding and once K’Syrah brought up the option, I could not wait to see it on our actual wedding day. Aside from the lams, we had oysters, steak tartare, and rather than a full cake, Heather Wong of Sweetsalt helped me make nods to my background in French patisserie and baked up lemon curd, chocolate hazelnut, and passionfruit mini tarts garnished with mini macarons, lavender meringue and edible flowers.
